There are several ways to integrate Oracle with Coupa. This section was created to help clients using Oracle E Business Suite understand best practices and considerations when integrating with Coupa.
Coupa Standard Flat Files
A standard file format is available for all master and transaction data objects typically integrated between Coupa and Oracle and can be leveraged by customers who have the resources available to translate between Coupa’s format and the formats needed for Oracle.
Our standard REST APIs can be used by customers who would like to implement a more sophisticated integration and is a common approach for those customers with a middleware platform and resources available to orchestrate integration between Coupa and Oracle.
Oracle Open Interface tables and Oracle API
Coupa now offers native outbound file formats that match Oracle Open Interface table schemas. This is a common approach for those customers who would like for Coupa to manage the translation between the Coupa and Oracle formats. More details can be found in the Oracle Open Interface tables and Oracle API section below.
In many cases, our customers will mix and match various integration methods to provide an optimum model for integration. For example, you may leverage Coupa’s standard flat-file formats for inbound master data and have Coupa provide Oracle specific formats for outbound transactions. The method(s) chosen will vary from customer to customer and Coupa will provide guidance as part of the implementation process.
Whichever method you choose, it is extremely important to properly model the data in your Coupa instance to ensure proper support for your business processes in Oracle.
