Step 7: Determine Your Communication Strategy

Overview

Communicate at the following key points:

  1. Broadly to existing suppliers via emails and/or webinars.
  2. To specific suppliers as part of:
    • Sourcing Events: Be clear about how the supplier will do business with you for catalog, PO and Invoice transactions.
    • New Contract Negotiation: Be clear about how the supplier will do business with you for catalog, PO and Invoice transactions. Add the language to your new contract.
    • Existing contract renewal: Be clear about how the supplier will do business with you for catalog, PO and Invoice transactions. Add the language to your renewal contract.
    • Purchase Orders: Modify your Coupa PO template (liquid template) to be clear about how the supplier will do business with you for Invoicing the PO.

Things to Include in your communications to Suppliers:

  • The goals of your supplier enablement project
  • The Value of Coupa platform for suppliers (it’s Free!)
  • Clear options for training (if needed)
  • Clear action items and need-by dates
