Group and Sort

Grouping and sorting lets you arrange the data in your table as you need it. This can make it easier to manage large data sets.

How to group and sort

Most columns now feature grouping and sorting functions.

Hover over the column header to show the grabber and down arrow.

Click the down arrow to show the group and sort menu.

Depending on the content of the column, you can sort alphabetically or numerically.

Click the Group & Sort button to open the menu.

The Group & Sort menu allows you to add, remove, and manage grouping and sorting within your table.

Each selection has a grabber, a down arrow, and a delete function.

Use the grabber to change the order of grouping or sorting.

To remove a selection, click the x on the left

The down arrow opens a drop-down menu with all available grouping and sorting criteria.

Select from the menu to change how your table is grouped or sorted.

Grouped and sorted tables

Grouping creates an expandable set, grouped according to a column in your table. The column header shows whether you have applied grouping or sorting.

Multiple levels of grouping and sorting

You can apply multiple levels of grouping and sorting.

When there is more than one type of grouping or sorting, Coupa Treasury applies them in the order shown here.

Use the grabber to drag and drop levels of grouping or sorting.

By default, Coupa Treasury applies grouping and sorting in the order you apply them.

Expand and collapse groups

When there is more than one kind of grouping, Coupa Treasury creates groups within groups, based on the grouping order.

Click the top arrow to expand all groups and subgroups.

To collapse all groups, click the arrow again.

You can also expand or collapse single groups.

Each group and item in the table has a check-box. Use the check-box for an item to select only that item. Use the check-box for a group to select every member of that group.

Group options

group_options_date.png When you select First or Last, the column shows the value for the first or last date in the group.

If the group members have numerical values, there are options to show mathematical properties of the group as a whole:

  • Sum
  • Average
  • Minimum
  • Maximum
  • None
