Data Dictionary Management - Objects

The Object Management Grid (Admin tab > Configuration Data Management section > Data Dictionary Management – Objects link) provides the ability to create and manage UDOs and manage standard objects that are displayed throughout the application and made available for reporting.

Grid functionality includes:

  • Manage Objects - Edit and Create
  • Localize Objects (customization/translation) - Object Display Name, Reporting Display Name and Association Heading
  • Search/Filter by Column
  • Add/Remove a Column
  • Sort by Column
  • Save Filters
  • Export Grid contents to Excel

By default the following columns are displayed on the Object Management grid:

  • Object Name - Display name for the UDO
  • Object Type
    • Standard – Standard objects in the application; i.e., Supplier, Relationship, Engagement, Candidate Supplier, Locations, etc.
    • UDO – Client-specific objects
    • Views – Custom views created for the legacy reporting wizard
    • Facts – Program results
  • Include in Warehouse – Indicator of whether the object should be available to the data warehouse for reporting purposes
  • Display Name - Display name for the object
  • Reporting Display Name – Display (column name) for the object in reporting
  • Parent – A UDO can be associated with one or more of the following objects in the application:
    • Products
    • Suppliers
    • Supplier Products
    • Relationships
    • Engagements
    • Candidate Suppliers
    • Locations
    • Third Party Bank
    • Company Code
    • Other UDOs

UDOs can have associated attachment objects, remark objects, and other UDOs.

The following columns can be added to the grid:

  • Culture - Language in which the object should be displayed
  • Object Status – Indicator of whether object is available for display on the parent objects (Active/Inactive)
  • Culture Status – Indicator of whether the object culture is available for display on the parent objects (Active/Inactive)
  • Association Heading - Heading under which instances of the user defined object are displayed in the associated object
  • Allow Multiple – Criteria that determines if the associated object cardinality is one-to-one with its parent object or many-to-one with the parent object
  • Tab Order - Numeric value for the order the data field should display in the list
