Supplier Sites FAQ

What is the concept of a supplier site?

Supplier Sites introduces the concept of Supplier hierarchy in Coupa. It allows the ability to manage site-specific information for your suppliers, while sharing other info like catalogs and remit-to addresses with some or all of the sites that are related to the supplier. See Supplier - Sites Phase 1 for more info.

Is there configuration needed to turn ON the feature or is it available by default to everyone on Release 17?

This feature is available by default to everyone starting Release 17.

How can you create a supplier site in Coupa?

Either via the Coupa UI or via REST API as of Release 17.

Can I create a supplier site first without associating with the supplier record?

No. You have to create the supplier record first and then create the supplier site associated with the supplier record.

If a supplier has one or more supplier sites, can I still create a requisition/PO against the supplier record as opposed to the supplier site?

If you are in the same content group as the supplier record, but not in the content group of any of the supplier sites, then yes you can create the requisition/PO against just the supplier record.  If you are in the same content group as the supplier record and also in the content group of at least one of the supplier sites, then you have to choose the supplier site when creating the requisition.

If I am in the same content group as the supplier site, however not in the same content group as the parent supplier record, can I still access/create requisition against the supplier site?

No, you need to have access to the parent supplier as well.

Does the supplier site have all the attributes that are on the supplier record?

No. The supplier site only has a subset (see below) of attributes that are on the supplier record

Can I use the Enterprise feature to associate a supplier site with a Enterprise?

No, As of Release 17, only suppliers can be directly associated with Enterprise. However indirectly all supplier sites associated with a supplier belong to the same enterprise as the parent supplier record.

Can I trigger a requisition approval chain based on supplier site?

As of Release 17, supplier site is not available on approval chain conditions.

Can I create a contract directly against a supplier site?

As of Release 17, you cannot create a contract directly against a supplier site. The contracts are still at the supplier record level.

Can I associate a remit-to address directly to a supplier site or in other words can I restrict the remit-to addresses available/associated for/with  a supplier site?

As of Release 17, you cannot associate remit-to-addresses directly with a supplier site via the UI. However you can use the API to associate a  supplier site to existing (associated to the supplier record) RTAs. Invoicing however is still done at the supplier record level and not at the site level.

Can I associate a supplier item/catalog directly to the supplier site?

The only way to make a supplier item(s)/catalog available to a supplier site(s) is by associating it with the parent supplier record.

If that is the case, how can I make catalog(s) only selectively available to only certain supplier sites, but not to all sites?

You can do that by using content groups. You have content groups associated with contracts and contracts are associated with supplier items. Supplier Sites and Users are also associated with content groups.

Are the CSP accounts at the supplier site level or at the supplier record level?

The CSP accounts are still at the supplier record level.

In the CSP, can the supplier see the supplier site information on the PO line?

No.

Can I use an integration to implement supplier sites?

Sure. See Supplier Sites API for more info.
